Our MissionKaleva Design Inc. designs, manufactures, and qualifies deployables and other mechanisms for spacecraft, sounding rockets, and military applications.
Company ProfileKDI has been in the business of designing and building qualified space flight hardware for 16 years. We are the only manufacturer of Stacer deployable booms for aerospace and military applications. We have extensive experience designing Stacer and rigid booms for the deployment of magnetometers, particle detectors, electric field instruments, as well as the use of Stacers for communication and science antennas. We have expertise in the design and implementation of one-shot and recloseable doors and covers for instrumentation utilizing SMA (Shape Memory Alloy) technology for a minimum of moving parts yielding simple and robust mechanisms. We have experience designing particle detectors, cryostats, spectrometers, and science instrumentation of all sorts. We work closely with our customers to meet their mechanism needs from simple one-shot covers to complete instrumentation suites.
